Biografie

Arthur De Greef studeerde piano bij Louis Brassin aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Brussel. Hij volgde tevens compositie bij Gevaert en daarna ging hij privélessen nemen bij Franz Liszt te Weimar.
Hij reisde doorheen Europa als pianovirtuoos en werd, door zijn vriendschap met Edvard Grieg, diens uitvoerder bij uitstek.
Van 1887 tot 1930 was hij als docent piano verbonden aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Brussel.
