De geschiedenis van het BRTN-Filharmonisch Orkest gaat terug tot in 1935.
1935: oprichting van het NIR Symfonie Orkest o.l.v. Franz André
1978: splitsing van het BRT-RTB Symfonie-Orkest. Het BRT Symfonie Orkest werd geleid door Fernand Terby
1988: Fernand Terby wordt opgevolgd door Alexander Rahbari
1996: Alexander Rahbari neemt ontslag en wordt opgevolgd door Frank Shipway
