This seventh instalment of Ton Koopman's Buxtehude "Opera omnia" project is a nicely balances programme of sacred vocal works that range form intimate solo ensembles or arias with a few instruments to lager ad more opulent extended cantatas. [...] There is a superb balance between solo voice groups in works such as Jesu.
This beautiful produces set has excellent documentation, and is one of the finest and most vital recordings to provide incontrovertible proof that Buxtehude was the finest of Bach's immediate predecossors.
