The more compelling disc is from Sigiswald Kuijken. In fact, it's a profoundly impressive achievement. While I've previouly demurred from the asceticism of Kuijken's one-to-a-part didacticism, these are liberating performances inhabiting a language of elevated perception and intimacy.

I would have preferred a more energic approach. However, the natural eloquence of all the participants results in a heartfelt rendition, while the fluid transition between duet and full-choir sections sound particularly convincing when the movement is sun one-to-a-part.
