The Flemish orchestra's tutti sound is admirably smooth and polished. There is fine but not attention-seeking solo playing throughout. The oboe solo from 2'12" in the introduction hints a many fine things to come; the horn's brief but important solo contributions, in the 'supplication' and the opening of the finale, are also excellent.
