InfoKenny Werner is ons vooral bekend als begeleidend pianist van Toots Thielemans. Op deze cd presenteert hij ons eigen muziek in een samenwerking met het BJO. Over deze ontmoeting vertelt hij: "I have played some of this music with a number of bands who weren't up to the task. Eather they did not have the talent or the enthusiasm to reach another level with music. The BJO has both. I am proud to have this music released with this fine musicians. Most of them are fierce creators in their own right, which is why this band is diffrent from most. ... I've refused to release this music before. Now that the BJO and I have found each other, I am so glad I waited."

"Wie een Goodmaniaanse bigband-cd had verwacht, is er dus aan voor de moeite. Werner houdt immers niet van bigbands, en precies daarom koos hij voor het BJO. Het gemak waarmee het orkest zichzelf fragmenteert en stilistisch diversifieert, is bijwijlen verbluffend.' (***)
