Internationaal concertpianist van Amerikaanse oorsprong die als docent en pianist in België werkzaam is.
Biografie
Daniel Blumenthal werd in Landstuhl (Duitsland) geboren, maar is van Amerikaanse afkomst. Hij begon zijn muziekstudies toen hij nauwelijks 5 jaar oud was en behaalde diploma’s aan de University of Michigan (Bachelor of Music) en aan de Juilliard School in New York (Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts). Daniel Blumenthal werd laureaat in talrijke internationale wedstrijden: Sydney en Leeds in 1981, Genève en Busoni in 1982, en de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd in 1983.
Hij verwierf internationale faam zowel als solist, concertsolist als kamermusicus. Daniel Blumenthal doceert piano aan het Koninklijk Muziekconservatorium in Brussel. In 1995 was hij jurylid aan de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd voor piano. Hij is prof aan het Thy Masterclass Chamber Music Festival.
Daniel Blumenthal nam reeds meer dan 80 CD’s op.
